Ptyctimous mites (Acari: Oribatida) from Guilan Province, Iran, with a checklist and a key to the ptyctimous mites of Iran and additional description of Euphthiracarus monodactylus (Willmann, 1919)

Abstract

The macropyline oribatid mites collected from Guilan Province in Northern Iran were investigated. The Austrophthiracarus heterotrichus (Mahunka 1979) and Steganacarus (Steganacarus) magnus anomalus (Berlese 1883) are new records for Iran mite fauna, also one genus and six species are reported as new records for Guilan Province mite fauna. A checklist and an identification key to the 29 ptyctimous mite species recorded from Iran are provided. Euphthiracarus monodactylus (Willmann 1919) is redescribed based on the material collected from Guilan Province Iran.
