Abstract

This paper deals with Pteridophylla and Filicophyta from 23 outcrops of the Rio do Rasto Formation in Paraná State and 2 outcrops of the Estrada Nova Formation in São Paulo State (Passa Dois Group, Paraná Basin, Upper Permian). Equivalent fossils have been described previously from only 3 localities of these same stratigraphic units. The fossils occur as impressions of fragmented fronds and pinnae in red, gray and yellowish mudstones, siltstones and fine sandstones. All the better preserve d pecopterids correspond to new species: Pecopteris taguaiensis, P. dolianitii, P. esperancensis, P. bracatingaensis and P. cadeadensis.
