Abstract

Pt hybrid catalysts containing Y zeolite as main component and sulfate-promoted zirconia or acidic/mesoporous silicaalumina as co-catalyst show enhanced activity in the hydroisomerization/ydrocracking of n-octane. This synergistic effect is due to the surface acidic and textural properties of the co-catalyst. The best co-catalyst must have a high surface acidity, a large surface area and an open pore system. The best Pt hybrid catalyst had the Pt species homogeneously spread over the three components of the catalyst.
