Abstract

In this paper, the author presents the »Psychotherapy Studies« programme at the Sigmund-Freud Private University of Vienna, which was the first example world-wide of a course that combined university education and psychotherapy training. The author discusses the conflicts arising between university courses and psychotherapy training as well as the solutions to these problems. He also points out the problematic nature of the age-limit that is to be integrated in the Austrian Psychotherapy Act.
