Abstract

The Bath Adolescent Pain Questionnaire (BAPQ) was developed as a comprehensive tool for assessing adolescents who experience chronic pain. Psychometric properties have been evaluated and established among an English sample of adolescents experiencing pain. In the present study we sought to evaluate whether or not similar psychometric properties would be obtained from a US-based clinical population. Data from a sample of 110 consecutive children and adolescents presenting for evaluation of their chronic pain at an urban interdisciplinary pain management program (71% female; M Age=14.6, range 8-18 (5 under 11), SD=2.3) was examined in this retrospective chart review.
