Abstract

Increasingly, corporate managers are being asked to add complex problem-solving to their list of daily responsibilities. many of these problems crop up in an area for which management personnel are poorly prepared: the area which Philip Lesly calls “the human climate.” In this article, Mr. Lesly tells public relations practitioners that they must acquire expertise in dealing with a broad range of “people's attitudes” toward their clients. In short, they must master the basics of applied psychology, and use that knowledge on the job. The initial recipient of a good counselor's application of psychological principles will be the client himself, Mr. Lesly says.
