Abstract

The elections of 2002 saw a record number of psychologists run for, and win election to, state and federal offices. The steady increase in the number of psychologists in the U.S. Congress and in state legislatures continues a positive evolution in the political maturation of the profession. This trend benefits society by facilitating the development of public policy from a psychologically informed perspective.
