Abstract
In this paper concluding our series on psychological interventions in chronic somatic disease, some general themes relevant for a diversity of chronic somatic diseases are described: multimorbidity, generic versus illness specific aspects and comorbidity. Further, we will reflect on the effectiveness of psychological interventions for chronic somatic disease. Finally, future developments are outlined, in particular Internet-based and peer-led interventions.
