Abstract

This article is devoted to the problems of teaching high school students oral speech in a foreign language. Improving speech training is considered in the context of taking into account the psychological characteristics of students' perception and understanding of oral speech. In the classroom, it is important for teachers to useoreign language as a means of communication with students. The perception of foreign speech requires extremely intense attention. The teacher's speech should be phonetically correct and understandable for students. The teacher should use clear stimuli (intonation, facial expressions, gestures) that will arouse the interest of high school students in the perception of foreign speech. The emotional attitude of students towards the teacher is a necessary condition that must be taken into account when conducting classes. An important condition for starting the speech activity is motivation. Preferably, the internal motivation is dominant as it holds the person in a learning situation stronger. In order to facilitate the speaking process, it is worth creating natural communication situations for high school students. The role of dialogic speech is also important in teaching a foreign language. When high school students create dialogues without additional training on simple topics, they learn not only to formulate their opinion, but also to present it with all the lexical and grammatical means they have already learned. For the interest of students in learning a foreign language it is worth organizing a foreign language club and various activities.
