Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between psychological compatibility with the name and the overall dressing behavior and its dimensions among young people and the differences in psychological compatibility with the name and clothing behavior according to gender, place of residence, age, level of education and economic level of youth. The study was conducted on a sample of 550 young men. The study tools included a preliminary data form, a psychological compatibility scale with the name, and a clothing behavior scale. The results resulted in a direct correlation between psychological compatibility with the name and overall clothing behavior and its dimensions (attracting attention, fashion, modesty, adornment, group affiliation, self-realization) among the research sample at the level of significance (0.01). The results also resulted in the presence of statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) in psychological compatibility with the name according to the study variables.
