Abstract

The evaluation of psycho-emotional status in patients with acute thallium poisoning has been carried out. According to the study performed the level of anxiety and depression is associated with the concentration of thallium in the blood and urine of the victims, there was a tendency of inverse correlation. Probably the cause of anxiety and depression was the stress response as a result of acute chemical trauma. The necessity of evaluation of psycho-emotional status in patients with acute thallium poisoning using the scale of «Anxiety and depression» (HADS) and consultation of a psychiatrist to choose an adequate method of therapeutic correction has been shown.
