Abstract

The teaching skills course for psychiatry trainees run by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Scottish Division’s undergraduate student teaching and recruitment group is designed to provide its participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical techniques they need to become more proficient and enthusiastic teachers. They also learn strategies that will equip them to design and deliver academic lectures and small group teaching sessions. It is for psychiatry trainees at any level of training, but an ideal participant would be a post-membership higher specialist trainee in the first or second year (specialty training year 4 or 5).
