Abstract

A 63 year-old woman referred to our clinic because of the recent worsening of slow, involuntary movements of the limbs, that had been present since the age of 60. Her medical history was marked by a longtime depressive disorder with psychotic features since the age of 23, for which she had undergone pharmacological treatment with tricyclic antidepressants, haloperidol and risperidone, with cessation of neuroleptics more than 10 years before examination. Family history was unremarkable for neurologic disorders: her father died of colorectal cancer, aged 83; her 92 year-old mother suffers from hypertension and chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs; her two siblings and two sons are in good health conditions.
