Abstract
About 25 years have passed since the discovery of the BRCA1/2 genes, and a vast amount of information on the results of genetic tests in many families and cases, and on the functions of the BRCA1/2 proteins has been accumulated, which has been very useful for clinical diagnosis and treatment. These two proteins have been shown to be multifunctional molecules with functions related to homologous recombination (HR) repair of DNA double-strand breaks, replication fork protection, centrosome regulation, cytokinesis regulation, and recently, R-loop regulation and transcriptional regulation.
