Abstract

In this letter, we analyze the ability of frequency-resolved optical gating for the retrieval of the optical field of a short telecom repeated pulse sequence. We show numerically that optical intensity and frequency chirp can be retrieved accurately for each pulse composing a pseudorandom bit sequence of seven bits. This technique should find application in the telecom context of bit rates increase with the use of shorter optical pulses.
