Pseudoaneurysm of the external carotid artery after gunshot: case report

Abstract

Background: Armed robbery is a reality all over the world, mainly from large centers of underdeveloped countries. Many times the victim may be shot. When the maxillofacial region is affected, long therm complications can be installed. A rare complication is pseudoaneurysm, which is a vascular complication caused by blunt, penetrating or surgical trauma, resulting in partial transection of an artery.
