Abstract

A simple and elegant multiuser detection scheme in direct sequence code division multiple access systems by using parallel interference cancellation is presented for the synchronous case. It uses the concept of pseudo-user, whose data bits and signature waveform are known a priori to all the users. Under the assumption that all signature waveforms have equal cross-correlation, multiple access interference is completely removed. The new scheme is computationally very light and independent of the number of users.
