Abstract

Thirteen new species and one new genus of Pselaphinae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) are described from the Three Kings Islands, as follows: Faronitae (Sagola incisa sp. nov., Sagola triregia sp. nov.); Euplectitae (Scabritiopsis gen. nov. [type species: Scabritiopsis caecus sp. nov.]); Goniaceritae (Eupines chandleri sp. nov., Eupines crosbyi sp. nov., Eupines tronqueti sp. nov., Eupines watti sp. nov., Gastrobothrus buckleyi sp. nov.); Pselaphitae (Hamotulus pectinatus sp. nov., Pselaphogenius butcherae sp. nov., Pselaphogenius carltoni sp. nov., Pselaphogenius hodeberti sp. nov., Pselaphogenius turbotti sp. nov.). The genus Anabaxis (Goniaceritae) is also reported from the islands, though a full appreciation of the Three Kings fauna must await full revision of the entire New Zealand fauna.
