Abstract

Given the transient nature of exercise-induced improvements in insulin sensitivity, exercise guidelines for type 2 diabetes state that aerobic exercise should be performed at least 3 days/week with no more than 2 consecutive days between exercise sessions. It has been speculated, however, that daily exercise would be preferable to maximize the benefits on glycemic control. The present study investigated the impact of daily exercise versus exercise performed every other day on daily glycemic control in type 2 diabetic patients.
