Abstract

Performance measures have been implemented in General Practice (GP) to improve the quality of diabetes care, focusing on decreasing undertreatment of risk factors. Recently, the use of strict targets for blood pressure (BP) and glycemic control has been debated, in particular for aged patients. In addition, concerns have been raised about potential overtreatment which may be stimulated by the introduction of performance measures.
