Abstract

Objective: Estimation features of circadian blood pressure (BP) profile in young men employed in stress-associated field work of law enforcement. Design and Method: A total of 132 young men, exposed to different severity of JS in type of operational activity (OA) of experience for 1 to 5 years were surveyed. Control group was formed of persons, whose daily work is not related with OA. Circadian monitoring (CM) BP was conducted on different days of week, comparing results of the office and CMBP determining. Results: It was revealed that presence of different forms of stress-induced AH - stable, isolated office and hidden ones were significantly more often among individuals were experienced mild and expressed stress-loads compared to control group. Frequency of occurrence of these three forms of the AH under influence of mild stress load was 21.8%, 20.3% and 14.2% compared to 10.0%, 13.3% and 6.% in control group. Among persons, exposed to expressed stress loads, these differences were higher. Most significant violations identified by time indices of increasing BP day and night, as well as the speed of morning rise BP. In output day, violations of CMBP leveled, that confirms the stressful nature of diagnosed AH. Conclusions: The findings suggest that even not very prolonged exposure to occupational loads is capable of causing disturbances CV activity at young age. It is proposed the use of CMBP during medical examinations of young men, exposed to the JS, in order to carry out differential diagnosis of various forms of stressful AH in a work time. This can be useful for more efficient formation of risk groups among the young contingent and further conduct of individualized prevention programs in the workplace.
