Abstract

Objective: It is said that hypertension influence the aortic thoracic dissecion. Design and Method: We examined death cases due to thoracic aortic dissection in Osaka Medical Examiner's Office 2014. The death cases were 108 (Male 58 cases, Female 50 cases: average 72.2 year old). Results: In year, the most cases were in November (20 cases) and the second were in February (15 cases). 63 cases (58.3%) were diagnosed at autopsy. 20 cases were diagnosed thoracic aortic aneurism while alive. We investigated past history; hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia. As a result, 39 cases were diagnosed hypertension, 9 cases were diabetes mellitus and 6 cases were hyperlipidemia. Conclusions: The result showed that hypertension influenced thoracic aortic dissection, but we thought there were few people examined the periodic medical check-up and many people did not receive the treatment for hypertension.
