Abstract

The author is showing the history of the important gentry family from Hesse, of which numerous representatives came to the monastic state in Prussia.This paper has a double character, is linking deliberations of genealogical issues with the historical-legal presentation. The last is necessary at discussing offices and their competence, in relation to persons from the von Hattstein family who held them. The special place was devoted Kuno von Hattsteinowi, which in the end one of the highest monastic offices, that is the office of the Great Marshal performed the 14th century. Genealogical tables are complementing the work.
