Abstract
The X-ray diffraction patterns and the ion microprobe analysis of lepidolites from « granite de Beauvoir » (Massif Central, France) show the occurrence of the very rare polytype 2M₁ along with 1M, and perhaps 2M₂. There is no significant variation of chemical composition between these polytypes.
