Abstract

We describe the recent experimental and theoretical exploration of novel proximity effects in superconducting/magnetic multilayers involving low- T c superconducting layers with ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic, and spin-glass layers. The topics include Josephson coupling of superconducting layers, π-phase coupling, upper critical fields, interlayer coupling across superconducting layers, and effects due to insulating ferromagnetic layers.
