Abstract
Abstract Alcohols were protected by esterification with new protecting reagents, 2-[2-(arylmethyloxy)ethyl]benzoic acids and the esters were chemoselectively deprotected in a proximately assisted manner even in the presence of acetyl, levulinyl, and silyl groups.
