Abstract

Nearly 24 million people in the United States (10%) report they're in recovery from substance misuse, which includes opioids, alcohol, and other drugs. Finding support can be more difficult in rural areas, where many colleges, including Greenfield Community College, are located. That's according to Greenfield's Judy A. Raper, Ed.D., associate dean of student development; and Leo Hwang, Ph.D., dean of humanities, engineering, math, and science. They spoke at the annual conference for ACPA: College Student Educators International.
