Abstract

Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) is one of the development of automation machining technology that can support the demand for a product that has a complex shape, high accuracy and can work on objects that can not be done with conventional machining. The methode of woodworking CNC machine building are done by the designing process to determine the dimensions of the machine, decide the calculation to determine the motor needs and specifications. Followed by designing electrical wiring to decide the controller specification, and continued to testing its precision of engraving. The designing result of this machine decided Mach3 as controller and stepper motor as actuator. The result of backlash measurement is 0,2 mm on the average. This Mach3 controller system using Mach3 software has an easy configuration because there is an auto tuning feature on each axis to determine the distance precision. Mach3 software can be downloaded on the internet so it can cut off the building cost.
