Abstract

The efficiency of an Atmospheric Water Generator(AWG) with two Thermoelectric Coolers – Peltier Devices – is experimentally investigated to understand its practical feasibility. The experimental setup is designed to be a Portable device that utilizes minimum amount of energy, makes use of two Thermoelectric Devices along with air flow regulation. The aim of the study is to understand the effect of ambient air temperature, Relative Humidity and air flow velocity on the amount of Water generated. The study also aims to investigate the change in Water generation and efficiency by varying the area of the condensation surface. The change in available area has a positive effect on water generation but inhibits the further condensation due to crystallization effect. The study also aims to experimentally determine the increase in Water generation upon the use of a pointed extended fin type surface for increasing the condensation area
