Abstract
Summary A method has been developed for the preparation of protoplasts from Claviceps . The DNA content, the oxygen uptake as well as the activity of DAHP-synthetase, chorismate mutase, anthranilate synthetase and tryptophan synthetase were measured. After regeneration the mycelium was again able to produce alkaloids.
