Photodermatoses are caused by an abnormal reaction to the sun or artificial light sources, usually to its ultraviolet component. They are divided into idiopathic photodermatoses, phototoxic and photoallergic reaction and secondary. Their differential. Photobiologic studies (light test, photochallenge test and photopatch test) have a clinical usefulness and are needed in various photodermatoses for diagnosis.
