Abstract
In order for patients with high blood pressure to adhere to a treatment program, they must understand the meaning of blood pressure, the nature of hypertension, and what therapy is necessary to lower their blood pressure. Every hypertensive patient needs this knowledge whether he has borderline hypertension and is not on medication or has sustained elevated blood pressure and is receiving drug therapy. I developed a hypertension education protocol with these realities in mind while working with patients that I saw in a medical clinic.
