Abstract

1. 1. Fragments produced by proteolysis of various skeletal muscle myosins with trypsin have been investigated by sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) gel electrophoresis. 2. 2. Tryptic digestion of new-born rabbit soleus muscle and new-born rabbit extensor digitorum longus muscle (EDL) myosin revealed a peptide pattern very similar in both cases, but distinct from the pattern obtained after digestion of corresponding adult rabbit muscle myosins. 3. 3. The digestion pattern of the adult rabbit diaphragm is identical with that obtained by digestion of mixture of adult EDL and soleus muscle myosins.
