Abstract

SummaryThe proteins, transferrin, a,‐macroglobulin and the immunoglobulins IgG, IgA and IgM have been measured in blood and urine of normal pregnant women at 38 weeks and in women with pre‐eclampsia. The plasma concentrations of IgG and transferrin were reduced and IgM was elevated in pre‐eclamptic toxaemia. The selectivity index and IgA excretion were found to be related to fetal mortality.
