Abstract
The past year has witnessed some exciting and unexpected developments that promise rapid progress in the future and hint at an eventual solution to the protien folding problem. This review considers recent theoretical advances by asking four specific questions: which sequences can fold; do solvent interactions drive folding; can energy surfaces be explored efficiently; and, do present theoretical schemes fold proteins correctly?
