Abstract
1.1. Proteins and free amino acids in the blood in both sexes of the bug Dysdercus cingulatus fluctuated during the first gonotrophic cycle which extended over 7 days.2.2. These fluctuations, which were more apparent in the female, were more or less parallel in both sexes. Concentrations of proteins and free amino acids in the blood of the female were higher except in newly moulted animals.3.3. Protein uptake by oöcytes appeared to be controlled independently of protein build-up in the blood.
