AbstractInsurance (MIC: 8.2 SIC: 6311 NAIC: 524113)Protective Life is a holding company whose subsidiaries provide financial services through the production, distribution, and administration of insurance and investment products. Co. markets individual life insurance, credit life and disability insurance, guaranteed investment contracts, guaranteed funding agreements, fixed and variable annuities, and extended service contracts throughout the U.S. Also, Co. maintains a separate division focused on the acquisition of insurance policies from other companies. Co.'s operating segments are Life Marketing, Acquisitions, Annuities, Stable Value Products and Asset Protection. As at Dec 31 2006, Co. had insurance in force of $765.18 billion.
