Abstract

Zn-modified SAPO-34 zeolites with different SAPO-34 intermediates were prepared by an impregnation method, and their catalytic performance in MTO reaction was systematically studied. The physicochemical properties of all samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3-TPD, FTIR, and XRF. The results show that the template, here TEA, has a protective effect on Templated-SAPO-34 structure during aqueous Zn modification process, which affects the structural integrity of Zn/Temp.-SAPO-34 zeolite and thus determines its product distribution. The prepared Zn/Temp.-SAPO-34 zeolite is a highly selective catalyst for ethene production from methanol, with the highest reported ethene to propene ratio of 2.00.
