Abstract

The radium department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital is a small stone annexe to the consulting room, and everything appertaining to radium is kept in this one room, away from any other section of the X-ray department. The stock of radium is kept in a special safe, with lead walls 3 in. thick, which contains nine compartments, and the whole of this is kept in an ordinary steel safe.
