Abstract

This article, dedicated to the memory of E.S. Sugonyaev, is based on publications of the developers of the integrated system of cotton pest control in Turkmenistan. Field studies of the cotton agroecosystem were conducted for 5–6 years beginning from 1971 in Murghab Oasis. It was found that no protective measures were required in the presence of 250–300 active zoophages per 100 cotton plants, and also that cotton sowing dates were of great significance for pest control.
