Abstract
—People sustain sunburn and sun damage at the beach, on the decks of ships, and around swimming pools. There they lie prone or supine by the hour. They do not indulge in this prolonged exposure under a pane of glass. Even if one accepts the thesis of Willis and associates that long ultraviolet rays augment the sunburn damage engendered by the short rays, this is of little practical importance.
