Abstract

A 6-kV power plant auxiliary grid with low ground fault currents is considered, which can operate in modes with insulated or compensated neutral depending on the connection of the working or backup auxiliary supply element. A high-sensitivity zero-phase sequence current protection from single-phase ground faults is suggested, which operates on commercial-frequency capacitive ground fault current and is suitable for the two kinds of auxiliary grid.
