Abstract

Nowadays, it seems that no effective treatment was achieved for bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaws, resulting in great difficulty in the rehabilitation of the jaw defect. A case was reported in this study, with a prosthetic obturator rehabilitating a maxillary defect caused by bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis. Additionally, rehabilitation approaches of maxillary defects with edentulism were reviewed. Key words: Bisphosphonates; Osteonecrosis; Jaw, edentulism; Maxillofacial prosthesis
