Abstract

RATIONALE: Prostaglandin (PG) E2 has both pro- and anti-inflammatory functions, and signals through at least four distinct receptor subtypes. Although PGE2 inhibits the activation of human mast cells (hMCs) through stimulation of adenylyl cyclase and cAMP, hMCs also express EP3 receptors which are reported to amplify mast cell activation in mice.
