Abstract

The wear resistance of corrosion-resistant chromium steels of ferritic and martensitic classes treated by laser radiation is studied under conditions of sliding friction. The effect of the modes of laser heat treatment and laser alloying on the structure, phase composition, and wear resistance of the steels is analyzed. Recommendations are given on the use of laser treatment for parts produced from corrosion-resistant chromium steels.
