Abstract

Puprose. Determine the possibility of applying the achievements of the Institute of past years in fulfilling the tasks that are now set for agricultural science in the field of mechanized production of environmentally friendly vegetable products. Methods. Monographic, analytical, abstract-logical, structural modeling, design and manufacture of promising technical means for the implementation of effective methods of weed control in the organic farming system. Results. The main results of the long-term work of the Department of Mechanical and Technological Problems of Vegetable Growing of the Institute of Mechanics and Automatics of AgroIndustrial Production of the NAAS of Ukraine on the mechanized cultivation of vegetables are presented and the prospects for further scientific research in organic farming are confirmed. The results of scientific research of past years on the development of a greenhouse fire cultivator and mechanical working bodies for weed control are used to create a modern fire cultivator and a rotary working body for removing weeds in protective zones and in rows of vegetable and row crops. Conclusions. The Institute of Mechanics and Automation of the AMS of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, continuing the traditions of its predecessors in the scientific search for an effective mechanized production of vegetables, is working towards the use of modern achievements in the field of automation and high-precision radio navigation systems. They remain relevant and are used in the process of fulfilling the task of technical and technological support for the environmentally safe production of table root crops and seedling vegetable crops in 2021–2025, experience of previous years in mechanical and thermal (fire) weed control without the use of herbicides. The practical experience of the past years can be used in the further work of the Institute on the development and use of electrically driven energy facilities and bridge systems for greenhouse vegetable growing. Keywords: mechanized cultivation of vegetables, organic farming, automation, weed control, fire cultivator, rotary working body, improvement, creation of technical means.
