Abstract

The adhesive interaction of some polymer surfaces with neutral, acidic, and basic samples formed on a cantilever specimen has been evaluated via atomic-force microscopy. The thermodynamic work of adhesion has been calculated using the Johnson–Kendall–Roberts model. The differences in the work of adhesion values obtained in the interaction of acidic, basic, and neutral samples with the same polymer surface have been found. The experimentally obtained values of work of adhesion have been carefully compared with theoretically calculated ones, which allowed the conclusion to be drawn that the area of research under consideration is promising.
