Abstract

ABSTRACT A start-up is an organizational setup in various forms searching for a worthwhile business version. India is the fastest growing start-up ecosystem and with approximately 3100 start-ups it is the third largest ecosystem. On an average more than 800 start ups are being set up annually. In its 2014 Start-up report, NASSCOM projected that there would be more than 11500 start-ups employing 250k people by 2020. This paper presents a detailed review of the literatures related to the start up ecosystems. More specifically, this paper intent to explore the prospects of start- ups in India, through literature reviews. The paper tries to analyse the vital elements of successful start ups. Factors that are hampering its progress in India have been discussed at last.
