Abstract

This paper explores various approaches to the targeted selective dissemination of scientific and technological information based on the use of online media and open-access journals. The structure, objectives, and development prospects of social networks are investigated in order to improve the information interactions between key players in the fields of research, development, and technology transfer. A description of several popular social networks is presented. Web 2.0 services and resources are explored. The results of a comparative analysis of foreign and Russian scientific social networks are presented. The problems and tasks that are related to the reliable and safe operation of the Russian segment of the Internet are discussed.
