Abstract

The proportion of nonenergetic use of crude oil in the world economy does not exceed 5%. More than 1% is consumed for fabrication of carbon materials. This term covers solid carbon material with a graphite-like structure to different degrees. Most (coke, industrial carbon, carbonized carbon ceramics, and carbon-filled plastics) are manufactured artificially [1 – 4]. Over 20 million tons/year of carbon materials are manufactured from products of processing oil and gas stock, usually aromatized fractions of native and destructive origin.
